Enhancement Services: Music

The goal of Vanguard's music program is to provide a multi-sensory and holistic music environment that provides each student with the opportunity to explore their musical creativity, enhance self-esteem and self-awareness, expand knowledge of music concepts and performance skills, promote better understanding of the ethno musicological styles of music, and integrate academic core curriculum goals into music activities to support and promote the entire learning process. Students will engage in individual and group activities, as well as public performances to incorporate learned skills into a positive social environment.

 

Two concerts are held annually, one just before the Winter break and one in the late Spring. Parent shows for Lower and Upper School are also annual events, usually in early Spring.

 

We are now offering private/group instrumental lessons on a limited basis. If a student is interested in taking a lesson on the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or drums please let the music teacher know. Please refer to the master calendar for specific concert dates:
